Roku and AMC Networks extend their collaboration, bringing a variety of fresh and exclusive content to the Roku Channel.

AMC Networks and Roku today announced an expanded partnership to bring AMC Networks high-quality content and targeted streaming services across the large and growing Roku Channel ecosystem. The deal includes the addition of 11 free ad-supported (FAST) streaming channels created and planned by AMC Networks on The Roku Channel, including an exclusive channel, AMC Showcase, which will feature many of AMC’s signature dramas, including Mad Men.

The multi-year global agreement ensures that AMC Networks’ targeted streaming services such as AMC+, Shudder, and Acorn TV will continue to be available to viewers through premium subscriptions to The Roku Channel. Thanks to the expanded partnership, AMC Network’s HIDIVE anime service will also launch as a premium subscription to The Roku Channel at a later date. Roku also provides users of The Roku Channel with a wide variety of AMC Networks ad-supported video-on-demand (AVOD) content, primarily movies and popular WE TV reality shows.

Launched in 2017, the Roku channel offers free and premium entertainment on the Roku platform. In the fourth quarter of 2021, the Roku Channel reached American homes with around 80 million people. Roku Channel was one of the Top 5 channels on the Roku platform in the US for active account coverage and hours of streaming engagement in Q3 2022. Today, Roku Channel has a diverse offering of over 80,000 free movies and shows and lots of most. 300 free live linear television channels in the United States license and distribute content from over 250 partners. In addition to Roku devices, the Roku channel is available on the web, iOS and Android devices, Amazon Fire TV, and select Samsung TVs.
