Online ad spend now focuses on five channels, led by Facebook and email marketing

A recently released report from ClickBank shows that online retailers and e-commerce companies are focusing on five main channels in their online ad spend, powered by Facebook ads, email marketing, and affiliate marketing.

ClickBank’s 2022 Traffic Trends Report, with an up-to-date and in-depth look at the online advertising ecosystem, reveals key new spend insights from ClickBank’s top 100 client companies to showcase:

  • In 7021, more than 70% of the successful companies in the study generated revenue through three or more marketing channels.
  • The email was identified as the most important marketing channel by 28% of respondents, followed by Facebook Advertising, Affiliate/Influencer, Google/YouTube, and Native Advertising.
  • Half of all companies identified ad spend as their biggest investment, surpassing software, product creation, and people.

The report also highlights specific trends for the three dominant channels, with insights from well-known experts in Facebook advertising, email marketing, and affiliate marketing.
